“It gives us all peace of mind”
Mary lives on her own and found out just how important the Life24 service can be when she had a fall.
She said: “I have had a pendant for 18 years and two smoke detectors. Recently I had to press my pendant, for the first time ever, as I was feeling unwell and giddy. It was frightening. The call centre called a paramedic and my son. I didn’t need to go to hospital, but my family stayed with me until I could see my GP.
“It made me realise that when you live on your own, something like this makes you feel vulnerable. Having the pendant makes me feel safe. I don’t know what I’d have done without it.
“I’d recommend the service, especially to anyone who lives alone.”
Mary’s daughter added: “I am so relieved mum had the pendant. She fell in the evening and no one would have found her until the morning. It’s such a relief for her to have it as it gives us all peace of mind.”
